Here comes the ever booming, lucrative market for who wants to help manage the powerless darkness.

Diesel Generators. Petrol Generators. Gas generators. Rechargeable lamps, batteries, fans, touch lights, etc. 

Mark you, in less than a year, these rechargeable electronics will no longer recharge and end up at the dump site.

In ten years, you have a scrapyard up to ten stories high, causing a huge nuisance and disposal problem.

But who cares?

Rather than put our shoulder to the math, eradicate this menace of low energy supply, we would rather go for the quick fix, including a budget for diesel generator in the United States where power supply never ceases for a second!

Meantime, manufactures of these products don’t even use them in their countries, but find an eagerly welcoming dump site, Africa. All in the guise of ‘helping’ the poor Africans to manage their darkness, as the leaders do not believe that attaining a 24hr, non-stop power supply is possible.

Who in his right sense would throw away a good source of income, if their services are in high demand?

In 2020 and 2021, for instance, Nigeria spent a whopping $5.26bn to import generators and other electrical machinery and equipment. Even the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) generated close to N1 billion from just fees collected from importers of generators within a year 30 Jan 2023.

Tell me why the authorities would want to end the importation of generators and kill the cash cow?

Keep the scrapyard of dead reachageables rising.

Keep the generators running.

Keep the fumes smoking.

Keep the noise louder.

Keep safe.
